JOINING THE LEGENDS:

• REQUIREMENTS:​

  • You must be an "experienced" golfer, meaning you have more than a few gray hairs.​  Our members range in age from their sixties to their eighties.  

  • You must be past the beginner stage and know the rules and etiquette of golf.  

  • You must be able to play 18 holes in 4 hours or less (riding in a cart).

  • You must have a GHIN handicap.  

• If you meet the requirements above, call (970-963-3625) or visit the pro shop and tell them you'd like to sign up to play with the Legends.  ​

• There is a one-time registration fee for joining the Legends is $50, payable to the Pro Shop, cash or check only.

  • YOU MAY PLAY ONE TIME with the Legends group without paying the registration fee.  After that, if you decided you'd like to be part of the group, please pay the $50.  
     

SIGNING UP TO PLAY

• WE PLAY ON THURSDAY MORNINGS each week during the golf season.  

• THE PRO SHOP WILL SEND A SIGNUP EMAIL ON THE FRIDAY PRIOR TO THE NEXT WEEK'S ROUND.  

  • If you have trouble signing up online, call the Pro Shop.  ​

• CUTOFF FOR SIGNING UP IS 5 PM ON MONDAY.

• Each week will have a limit to the number of players.  If you sign up after the limit is reached, you will be placed on a WAITLIST.  You will be contacted via email if space becomes available.

• FOURSOME ASSIGNMENTS (tee sheets) are emailed on WEDNESDAY.  

  • Foursomes are selected randomly.   The goal is to have each player paired with as many different players as possible throughout the golf season.  ​​

• IF YOU MUST CANCEL, CALL THE PRO SHOP AT 970-963-3625, AND DO SO AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE.  

The WEEKLY ENTRY FEE is $10 .

• Each member of the week's winning team receives $20.

• Funds remaining at the end of the year are distributed among RVR's outstanding golf operations team, including the maintenance crew. 

• We operate on the honor system, so please remember to contribute each week.

• Before you play, please place your $10 in the collection box at the starter's shack.

HANDICAP REQUIRED for regular members. 

• GHIN handicap required to participate in team events​.

• One-time guests without handicaps are welcome, but their scores will not be used in the competition.  ​

• For groups with fewer than four players, a blind draw will be used to complete team's total score.

• Your Legends score WILL BE POSTED TO GHIN BY THE PRO SHOP.  ​​

THE GAME WE PLAY​:

• Foursomes are assigned RANDOMLY each week.  We try to mix it up so participants have the opportunity to play with as many Legends as possible.

• EACH FOURSOME IS A TEAM.​

• Team score is determined by adding TWO BEST NET SCORES on each hole.

• $80 goes to winning team.

• In the event of a tie, team scores will be compared hole-by-hole, from #18 in reverse order.  First team with a lower score wins.​​

CHAMPION GOLFER OF THE WEEK:​

• Determined by LOW NET individual score.​

• In the event of a tie, net individual scores will be compared hole-by-hole, from #18 in reverse order.  First one with a lower score wins.

• Champion Golfer will receive a sleeve of balls and will have bragging rights for an entire week! 

• Players may win the Champion Golfer award twice. 

  • After that, they gain world-wide recognition by joining the Legends Hall of Fame!

TEE BOXES:

• Most play from the white tees, but you may play from other tees if you wish. 

• Please let the pro shop know your tee preference if not the whites, or  if it changes from week to week.  

PACE OF PLAY​:

• Required pace of play for Legends is 4 hours.

• FILL YOUR FAIRWAY DIVOTS.​

• RAKE BUNKERS.

• FIX YOUR BALL MARK AND ONE MORE.

• HONOR CART DIRECTIONAL SIGNS.

• DO NOT DRIVE CARTS IN NATIVE GRASS AREAS.

• SEARCHING FOR BALLS ON PRIVATE PROPERTY IS NOT ALLOWED.  

• PLEASE USE THE RESTROOMS, NOT THE BUSHES.  😎
