SPECIAL RULES OF PLAY

  • TO PARTICIPATE IN THE LEGENDS COMPETITION, PARTICIPANTS MUST HAVE A GHIN HANDICAP.

    • Guests and one-time participants without handicaps may play, but their scores will not be used for the team competition.

  • PACE OF PLAY:

    • RVR required pace of play is 4 hours 10 minutes, but the Legends goal is to complete our round in 4 hours.

    • If a group fails to keep its place on the course and loses more than one clear hole on the players in front, the group may be asked to skip a hole to catch up.

    • In that event, the group is disqualified from the Legends competition.

  • PUTTS:

    • Inside 24” considered good.  Please mark the shaft of your putter accordingly.

  • PLAY THE BALL AS IT LIES IN THE ROUGH.

    • You may roll the ball in the fairway.

  • PLAY THE BALL AS IT LIES IN BUNKERS, EXCEPT:

    • If the ball comes to rest in an area that is not dry, raked sand, or is in a footprint, the golfer may place the ball in the nearest suitable area within the bunker, no closer to the hole.  If no such area is available, the golfer may rake a spot in the bunker, no closer to the hole, before placing his ball.

    • RVR Local Rule:  Stones are movable obstructions and may be removed.

  • TWO MINUTES MAX LOOKING FOR LOST BALLS.

  • RVR NATIVE GRASS LOCAL RULE & LOST BALLS:

    • Inbounds native grass areas are played as penalty areas, which means:  If the ball is lost or comes to rest in native grass, for a ONE STROKE PENALTY, the player may drop within two club-lengths of where the ball last crossed into the native grass, no closer to the hole.

    • For all other lost balls, drop within two club-lengths of your best guess where the ball came to rest, no closer to the hole.

  • OUT OF BOUNDS:  ONE STROKE PENALTY.

    • Drop within two club-lengths of the point at which the ball last crossed course boundary, no closer to the hole.

  • TEE SHOTS THAT DON'T MAKE IT OVER THE RIVER:  ONE STROKE PENALTY.

    •  If there is not a designated drop area, drop across the river in the fairway, furthest from the hole.

    • Otherwise, use the designated drop area.

  • IF YOU ARE PLAYING THE RED/WHITE TEES:

    • Play #13 as WHITE.

    • Play #18 as RED.
